New Voices
The New Voices Initiative promotes gender parity and diversity and seeks to increase the number of women, young adults and underrepresented populations within our association. It features a diverse group of Lions and Leos who are selected annually by their district governor for their dynamic and innovative contributions in one of four areas: service, membership, leadership and marketing.
This initiative is focused at the district level to encourage regionalization and support at the grassroot level. Once selected, the New Voices nominees can be promoted regionally throughout the year to showcase their talents and contributions and inspire other Lions and Leos. We encourage local areas to promote the program and their nominees with the goal of attracting new dynamic members into our association and encouraging them to seek leadership positions.

New Voices symposiums
The New Voices symposiums aim to promote gender parity and diversity, while seeking to increase the number of women, young adults and other underrepresented populations in our organization. The symposiums are useful tools for pinpointing needs and relevant service opportunities that will spark the interest of people of all ages and backgrounds in the community. They serve to promote Lions clubs and service projects of interest to the community, recruit non-Lions, as well as provide information and resources for chartering a new club or club branch with the goal of developing new community projects.
Lions Clubs International offers grants of up to US$2,000 per symposium (US$4,000 per constitutional area). For planning assistance and grant application, review the New Voices Symposium Planning Guide.
New Voices workshops
Formerly known as the Lions Regional Women’s Workshop, the New Voices Workshops bring together a small diverse group of Lions to explore factors surrounding the recruitment and retention of individuals from the various ethnic, gender and age groups in specific parts of the world. By offering Lions the opportunity to meet and devise strategies to increase the number of women, young adults and other underrepresented persons in membership and leadership, the workshops can provide Lions with a clear action plan for their region.
Lions Clubs International offers grants of up to US$2,000 per workshop (US$4,000 per constitutional area). For planning assistance and grant application, review the New Voices Workshop Planning Guide.
